Many churches that exist today are labeled “Baptist.” If you are in search of the one that is Biblical, you need to know what a baptist church really is. This church consists of a group of local people believing firmly and practicing what has been presented in the Bible.

  1. All Baptists were led to the belief that the Bible is perfect. They completely accept every word written on it from cover to cover. The word of God preserved and written in English is the King James Bible version.
  2. Baptists only preach and teach what is in the Bible. Every truth and church doctrine and not books about the Bible or extra prayers are the only ones they preach. They base their belief and every aspect of their Christianity from the Bible. No matter how good are the traditions they were born into, these are all excluded.
  3. The Baptists believe that the Gospel is the good news about Jesus Christ. It is where you can read that to save our sins; Christ died on the cross and was buried. After three days he rose again.
  4. Baptists think that all people are born with sin hence are separated from God. They must be born again by simply obeying God through faith and from the heart. They also believe that a person saved by the grace of God is already secure in His care eternally since once you receive your salvation, you cannot lose it anymore.
  5. The Baptists also accept as true that there is heaven and hell but reject purgatory which they consider contradicts the word of God. It is written in the scriptures that Jesus promised a place in heaven for those who will follow Him. If a person does not accept Jesus Christ and only trusts in his religion, it is difficult for him to enter heaven but will go to hell instead.
  6. All Baptists, even the members of independent fundamental Baptist; suppose that if a person is saved, baptism is done by fully immersing him in water. Baptism to them is obedience to God’s word but does not guarantee salvation.
  7. They also believe that Jesus Christ is coming again and will rule over all forever.
  8. When it is contrary to God’s word, they do not accept other experiences because even the devil has the power to do miracles.
  9. They also believe in the Trinity, one God in three equal Persons, God the Father, the son who is Christ Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit.
  10. They also reject the act of worshipping other beings like Mary, the saints, and other religious objects.
  11. They also trust that born-again believers are all equal in the sight of God and each one has direct access to God.
  12. Christian life entails obeying completely the commands of God.

With this, we come to conclude that Baptists, like the members of baptist church Lexington are followers of Christ who believe in the Bible and they are neither Catholics nor Protestants.
